I always feel like I have leaped tall buildings in a single bound after making homemade soup.

Day 84: The Promise of Spring

We've been regressing back into winter around here lately so the sight of buds on the trees gives me hope spring can't be too far off.

Day 83: Morning Song

I love listening to Cardinal birds singing away...it's a soothing way to start my morning.

Day 82 - Freezing For My Art

Today was one of those cold blustery Chicago March days where you try to avoid being outside altogether. But when I saw the sunset, I leaped out onto the balcony, questioned my sanity while I took the picture and dashed back inside faster than I've moved in a while.

Day 81:Well????

On those days when I'm too slow to understand that she's ready to play NOW, my cat Katie will jump on the couch and fetch the toy herself. I think she secretly finds me amusing in my ineptness, but she'll never admit to it.

Day 80: The Simple Things

My sister made this sculpture  years ago when she was still  in school and I always liked it. So when my mom said she was going to toss it while packing up to move, I took it home with me. The three kitties were my addition :)

Day 79: The Price of Procrastination

I had been planning on sending my mom a card for her birthday but ran out of time...in the effort to stay off the bad daughter list, I ended up sending her flowers instead :)

Day 78: Trees

I took this with the intention of the buds on the trees being the focus but I'm pleasantly surprised with the reversal.

Day 77: It's Back

The snow is at least. Nothing of major accumulation, but just messy and cold enough to make Saturday errands a pain.

Day 76: Winter Rears Its Ugly Head

After enjoying a flurry (pun intended) of several  nice weather days in the 50's and 60's, we're heading back to the cold snowy weather again. I snapped this picture with the last of the  light after leaving work to walk to the train station.

Day 75: Nap Time

 I love their expressions. She's completely serene. He looks like he's up to something and got caught on camera doing it.

I love the surprises that show up on camera sometimes. 

Day 73: The Heralder of Spring

I've always associated Robins with spring. When I see them starting to hang around the neighborhood, it feels like they're bringing spring along with them.

Day 72: Train at Twilight

I love the lighting on this. It seems mysterious and a little sinister.

Day 71: Bright Spot

I love the color red...it brightens up an otherwise fairly ferocious march day where the winds are howling and the temperatures are cool.

Day 70: Priorities

This is one of Katie's ( my cat) favorite toys..of everything I've bought her, she prefers the $1.99 toys to the more expensive. Maybe I could learn a little from her about simplifying and appreciating the basics a little more.

I'll confess. This is a big milestone for me. It's been a long time since I've gone into a store with the sole purpose of buying something healthy for dinner. And actually come out of the store with just that.

Day 64: Choices

My day today: overslept, then went to Walmart and the library all with only 10 marachino cherries in my stomach for breakfast.And the first food in sight was McDonalds. Kid's meals rule for adults trying to watch their weight at McDonalds!

Day 63: Even Squirrels Love a Snacky

I love the expression on the squirrel's face..it's almost gleeful.

Day 62: Round

 Poor Katie. She humors me greatly, even when I keep calling her name trying to get the right picture.

Day 61: Trying to Ignore Me

I love birds. I think it's because of their ability to fly and be free at a moment's notice.I envy them that ability.

Day 60: Simplicity

 

I find moments like this to be the biggest help in combating all the silliness that can go on at work sometimes. Simplicity versus Chaos. 

Day 59: Keep Your Eyes Open

In Chicago, walk signs should really mean run when you've got drivers anxious to turn :)
