Day 57: Unexpected at the Grocery Store
I took this photo from a tree just outside my local Jewel grocery store. Amazing what I can see when I slow down long enough to take a closer look.

Day 56: Getting There
To me, this is a sign of healing. I know it looks like just a bookshelf of cookbooks, but it is really a sign that life is coming back together.

Day 55: For the Love of the Window
I was trying to get a photo of the clouds but as soon as I pulled back the blinds, my cat Katie jumped up and I knew this shot was the one.

Day 52: Trying to Be Invisible
Poor little birdie. Sometimes, as an introvert, I know what it's like to try to blend into the background.

Day 51: Remembering to Laugh
My cat, Katie, thrives on playing. And while watching her jump up in the air, stalk and try to outwit the diabolical toy, it always makes me laugh because of the sheer pleasure she gets out of it.

Day 50: It's Not What It Seems
What I love about this picture is that to me it doesn't look like what it seems it is.It reminds me of a mountain with the textures and greenery and snow. I love the fact that it's actually a tree.

Day 49: Taking A Sick Day ( I Want My Mother)
Anytime I have a serious cold, I always want to sleep on the couch. It's got to harken back to being a kid and staying home sick from school and watching TV all day. Hopefully, I should be up to feeling better soon and taking some more interesting photos.

Day 47: Getting There
At this point, on a day when I'm fighting a cold and feeling oh so tired, passing this house always gives me a little boost of energy because it means I'm only one block away from home (and the couch!).

Day 44: A Two For One Deal
I came across two great shots today on my way back from the store. And both were visually a complete contrast. So as I could not choose between the two, I'm giving you both today!
Neighbor # 1 must love colors as much as I do. This is such a visual treat to come across on February Days when the snow has turned grey and mushy!
This happens EVERY year to my other neighbor. I have no idea why, but I get a total kick out of it. It's like Mother Nature got bored and decided to take up Ice Sculptures as a hobby!

Day 42: Seeing Red
Sometimes I struggle with frustration and irritation a lot at work. This shot reminds me that seeing red all the time can be a boring and limited perspective.

Day 41: Contrasts
I love contrast pictures. I'd feel sorry for the plant if I didn't know it will win in the end once the temperatures get warmer.

Day 39: Almost There
I took the easy way out this morning and switched trains instead of walking to work after the first train. The sidewalks weren't too bad...it's the slush lakes at the street corners that do me in trying to leap over them.

Day 38: Our Luck Was Bound To Run Out Eventually
I can't complain too much. It's the first serious snowfall we've really gotten in Chicago but at best it will be maybe a foot by tomorrow. Considering how the East Coast got whomped, I can't complain too much (at least not out loud). I took this from my balcony when I got home today.

Day 37: Changing My World - One Bite at a Time
This is pretty amazing for me to have in the house...I'm the kind of person who considers cheese nips and spreadable cheese to be a great dinner given the opportunity.

Day 35: Try a New Perspective
I find greens and blues to be very soothing colors in life. Someday, I hope to have a house overlooking the water to surround myself with tranquility.

Day 34: I Think She's Trying to Tell Me Something
Katie has taken to laying underneath the TV stand where I have all of my hand weights and stepper stored. I think she's trying to tell me something because every time I look at her, it reminds me again that working out would help so much with my stress levels.

Day 33: Not Sure What It Is About It
But I have always liked this walkway. It seems to call out for red carpets, hollywood stars and lots of flowers.

Day 32: The Benefit of Getting out of Work on Time
I get to catch the last light of the longer days when taking pictures nowadays. This is right before I turn left and go underground to catch my train.

Day 31: I Love It When A Photo Comes Together
And I love it when I can get a moving vehicle and lights in a shot without too much blurring. Happy dance!
